Reflex Measurement Operation
When the user looks through the binocular
eyepieces at the artefact to be measured,
then a small yellow dot appears in the
field of view.  This dot is not actually
projected onto the object being measured,
but just appears to be.  The yellow dot
always remains in focus.

The user then uses a joystick to move
the object table in x and y, and to move
the microscope head in the up - down
Z axis.  In this way the user positions
the yellow dot at the point where a
measurement is required.  In order to
record the point, a button on the joystick
is pressed and the co-ordinates are
recorded on a PC connected to the
microscope.

A set of such points are stored on the
computer where they can be processed
in various ways.
